Maya Valverde

Maya Valverde joins the Funk/Levis team with a Bachelors degree in Public Relations and minors in Legal Studies and Sociology from the University of Oregon. Her experience spans across social media strategy and external communications, with specific interests in aviation, crisis communication, food/beverage, public affairs and government. Maya is originally from Chicago, Illinois (go Bears) and is now a “half-Oregonian.”

Throughout her academic and professional career, she has developed a reputation for bringing curiosity, creativity and a calm presence to every project she takes on. She enjoys bringing her outgoing gen-z personality and problem solving mentality to the team. Her professional experience includes work in aviation communications, technology social media, both long form and short form video content and social media strategy. She has helped organizations create and strengthen their social media presence and engage with diverse audiences. 

Outside of work, Maya is an avid traveler and passionate cook and baker who believes some of life’s best experiences are centered around food. Maya believes food is one of the most powerful ways people connect. She has a bucket list of traveling to every national park in the U.S. and also every continent! Her favorite places are the coast, White Sands National Park, Guatemala and San Diego. Beyond travel and food, Maya is a big sports fan and will always be busy during a Chicago Bears game.
